Business

The reality of top-tier motorsport is that a team is nothing without its sponsors. Formula 1 is the best example of this, where Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes have been able to blow their competition away in large part by being wealthier. That is why the business sub-team is so critical. They will be producing promotional material, reaching out to sponsors, making deals, sourcing suppliers, and ultimately, the fate of the entire team will rest on their success.

Mechanical

When you think of designing a motorcycle, mechanical design is usually what comes to mind. This is the team designing the chassis, the suspension, the steering, and all the other mechanical components that are core to a functioning motorbike. CAD and analysis are done in Solidworks courtesy of Dassault, and all fabrication will be done in-house, from the welding of the chassis to the machining of the triple-clamp.

Electrical

Data collection is arguably the most important aspect of iterative design allowing you to see all the issues very clearly and helping you to correct them. The Electrical sub-team will be responsible for designing and wiring up the intricate CAN bus running through the motorcycle that will be collecting and monitoring data, as well as designing many of the driver displays, interfaces, and controls.

Dynamics

Aerodynamics is an important yet often forgotten aspect of motorcycle racing that has become increasingly prominent in recent years with side wings, rear wings, and complex diffusers. The Aero sub-team uses some of the most advanced CFD software on the market courtesy of Title Sponsor Cadence to maximize our traction, stability, and handling ability for when we race. They will also be responsible for the final construction of the composite motorcycle body.
